Yin yoga is slow moving, long holding and leaves you feeling light and relaxed. The benefits to yin yoga stretches are that they don't only engage the muscles but they go deep into the connective tissue. It not only improves flexibility but increases circulation in the joints. Yin is like meditation for beginners. Holding the postures longer gives your mind a lot of time to wander. A teacher can give you ideas about how to stay present but it is up to you to do the work. So the question would be, is the physical part of yin yoga or staying present the most difficult. Try it and see!
